What it is?

What do we analyze?

Before the body uses vitamin D, the liver must convert it to another form called 25-hydroxyvitamin D, also known as 25-OH vitamin D. The vitamin D study tests the levels of 25-OH vitamin D in the blood.

Who is it indicated for?

The study is indicated for people who suffer from any known bone disorder or problems absorbing calcium, as the test could determine whether a lack of vitamin D is causing the condition.

It is especially indicated for people suffering from any of the following symptoms:

• Bone pain
• Muscle weakness or pain
• Soft bones
• Bone malformation
• Weak bones and fractures (broken bones)
• Low bone density (osteoporosis or osteopenia)
